Description:
Function:
Be a key member of a project management team in the corporate automation group, ensuring customer's needs are met and providing technical leadership and support to site resources for equipment based automation solutions. Reports to the Department Supervisor – Automation Solutions Group. Work in this exciting multi-million dollar Department to help bring it up to 100% production capacity.
Responsibilities:
Prepares and/or reviews design for compliance with engineering principals, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Lead and manage project plans, time lines, budgets, and resources while monitoring the process from the concept through implementation.
Managing, planning, scheduling, communicating, facilitating and reporting project related tasks.
Breaking work down into manageable tasks required to meet project objectives and assigning and/or directing work of sub-contractors.
Directs integration of technical activities and products.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Prepares interim and completion project reports.
Works closely with sales and service staff in a consultative and/or training environment.
Qualification Requirements:
This individual will be capable of working with our customers, principals, and our own sales representatives. Knowledge in the areas of Sensors, Vision Systems, PLC’s, Operator Interfaces, Motion Control/Automation and Electro/Mechanical Power Transmission Equipment is a must. A Bachelors of Science in engineering is required, (ME or EE) with at least five years experience in an engineering and project management environment. This position requires strong engineering, project management, customer service and computer skills including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office experience. Excellent problem solving, team player, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Work Environment:
Travel 20-25% to destinations within the US, Canada and Mexico. Some global travel may be required.
Working knowledge of process control systems, programmable controllers, human-machine interface systems, and reporting tools.
Work may be performed inside of plant in hot and noisy or cold and noisy environments.
